The second cycle of the Learning Community of the All Eyes on the Amazon Program (AEA) will be launched on Thursday, November 18, at 09:00 am (UTC -5).
The meeting will discuss land monitoring strategies that combine ancestral knowledge with the use of technological equipment and solutions, such as drones and apps, in addition to addressing issues that are fundamental to monitoring actions, such as ongoing capacity building and integral security guidelines.
In this new phase of our Community, sessions will be focused on a specific case, to which partners and other organizations allied to the AEA program will contribute with their experiences to solve challenges and obstacles faced by the addressed case.
At this November meeting, we will learn about the creation process of the land monitoring team of the Federation of the Shuar Nationality of Pastaza (FENASH-P), which is part of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of the Ecuadorian Amazon (CONFENIAE).
The contributions and suggestions made during this session will support the creation of a roadmap on land monitoring, which can be used by any organization or community that wishes to have more information on the process of creating land monitoring teams. After the session, this roadmap will be made available in the resources below.
