In-Depth Journalism

The third and last meeting of the Campaigns and  Communication cycle will take place on August 19, 2021, with In-Depth  Journalism as topic.

Through a conversation between expert journalists in the Amazon,  the meeting will present the research work led by three Hivos and GK scholarship-winning journalists who developed Amazonian stories. The meeting, moderated by Isabela Ponce from GK, Ecuador, and Elizabeth Salazar from Ojo Público, Peru,  will include a conversation with Carolina Zambrano, author of “Contacts of Isolated Peoples”, about the Tagaeri and Taromenan  Indigenous peoples in isolation in Ecuador; Ana Mendes, author of “I didn’t  know I was going to be a soldier” about the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA) in Brazil; and Kimberley Brown, author of “The Last Line of Cofán Resistance,” focused on the Cofán Indigenous guard in Ecuador.
